Prussia What Was Prussia? Prussia was a precursor to modern-day Germany, which was founded in 1701. It led to the formation of Germany and was abolished by the Allies in WII. Prussia was a kingdom that resided in the areas in and near modern-day Germany; it was founded in the year 1701. [1] Its capital was in Berlin; it encompassed areas including the kingdom of Brandenburg. After World War Two ended in 1947, Prussia was abolished and incorporated completely into Germany.
