Byzantine Empire

The Byzantine Empire was the remnant of the ancient Roman Empire. The Byzantine Empire was well known and benefited massively from trade. The Byzantine Empire had extremely fertile fields that massively contributed to Byzantine wealth, population, and military success. The Byzantine Empire defended the world from the powerful Muslim Empire. The ancient Byzantine Empire was a world leader that influenced Western civilization and protected medieval Europe from the powerful Muslim Empire that was encroaching on Europe.

The Byzantine Empire was the Eastern half of the original Roman Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire/ Byzantine Empire at its peak ranged from Sicily to Bulgaria to Egypt to the Middle East. The Byzantine Empire was extremely wealthy from trade, the Silk Road, and Egypt’s fertile wheat fields. Ancient Egypt had some of the most fertile land in the entire world at this time. Some modern analyses of the Byzantine influence, according to James Francis is that the Byzantine Empire possibly increased authoritarian influence in the Balkans and Russia after the Byzantine Empire collapsed. The Byzantine Empire lasted from ~150 CE to ~1450. The Byzantine Empire led to vast increases in Greek culture, defended Christian kingdoms from the Muslim invasion, and allowed Europe to develop to counter the scary Muslim threat. The Ancient Byzantine military was heavily based on having a strong cavalry force, cataphracts (charge cavalry), and also having large amounts of wealth to fund its military. Ancient Byzantium even occasionally hired mercenaries, which included the Varangian guard. The Varangian guard was an elite Viking mercenary guard force in Byzantium. The ancient Byzantine Empire controlled the Silk Road for large parts of its existence, so it had large amounts of gold, silver, food, and wealth. They controlled the large trade route, which brought wealth, knowledge, religion, and culture. The ancient Byzantines were incredibly powerful and also were literary and artistic leaders.

The ancient Byzantine Empire was a Eurasian Leader and lasted until the mid-15th century. The Byzantine Empire had some of the most powerful military, some of the most fertile land, and some of the most crucial trade routes in Europe. Another major thing about the Byzantine Empire was its important, fertile Egyptian fields, which allowed it to field and feed large armies, trade, create alliances, increase its population, have a strong economy, and trade with other kingdoms. Another thing, the ancient Roman Empire was a large and powerful player. The Byzantine Empire was the Eastern half of a broken Roman Empire and lasted much longer.
