Africa Part 2 Late and Middle Stone Age

Elephant enclosure with African Elephant

This book was a requested topic based on ancient Africa. It covers African History from the very beginning which includes Toolmaking, Fire and the Creation of Agriculture. This is cool as I am learning history that starts with stuff that my basis with is in Greek Mythology/ Greek Religion. I didn’t even learn it in biology or history class, so it is close to brand new.

The middle and late stone ages were important for human biological development, the start of the modern human brain wise and biologically. The middle stone age started 250,000 years ago and the late stone age started 100,000 years ago. The middle and late stone age wasn’t too different from each other but there were some important changes. The Middle Stone age was the start of the modern human biologically, and the discoveries during this age allowed them to invent art with a more advanced brain- In the late stone age agriculture was not invented yet but it was mostly continuous during this period including the time period right before the end of hunting and gathering for the most part and the discovery and cultural importance of burials.

The middle stone ages were the start of the modern biological human. The middle stone age started 250,000 years ago; it is the start of modern human biologically. This time included the start of African tools and the lifestyles of humans and those in Africa that populate parts of Asia. The humans that are characterized by modern human behavior, strategize behavioral and symbolic behavior. The earliest archeological records include Africa with the earliest record of Africa. The increased geographic range caused increased traveling and better, location awareness and new races. The earliest humans invented art.

Art was invented 100,000 years ago, however there were beginning shards of art 400,000 years ago. The earliest discovery allowed humans to make and create ceramics and metals and construct the earliest version of a human constructed building. The creation of Art started in ancient Africa 100,000 years ago with cave paintings, it was necessary to have brain changes to make art possible. However, 400,000 thousand years ago there was a very basic beginning version of art created on stones. At the time of the inventing of art - 400,000-100,000 years ago – the human population levels heavily increased.  The late Stone Age had some important minor differences.

The Late Stone Age had significant improvements in the human condition especially in the brain. Next there was the Late Stone Age which occurred 50,000 years ago and included just before Agriculture was invented and humans stopped being hunter-gatherers. The “Late Stone Age.” The last 300,000 years have been pretty similar in Africa with not too many differences between the two. However, there were significant improvements in human ability during this time of the late stone age with significant human improvements. The Late Stone Age created new cultural practices.

A big change in the late stone age was burials, Cemeteries and mummies. Burials were very important during this period of ancient civilization – writing was only invented 6,000 years ago- they had a great deal of knowledge with there burial technology and that time period of human cultures celebrated the dead- it was very important to them. Religious beliefs encouraged the practice of funeral rites which were molded with ancient religions. 15,000 years ago, African lived in a cave near Morrocco, they visited them over 100,000 years ago. The burials had the oldest mummy – African- in the year -5600 BCE- .

The Middle and Late Stone Ages were the start of the Human Race and the beginning of the full development of humans before the invention of writing in 5400 BCE. Many modern-day religious practices started with the Late Stone Ages art, which is the first thing most humans could record the rest is archeology. Archeology is how we discovered the culture before the Invention of the first pieces of art 400,000 years ago and even before the first writing in 5400BCE.
