African History Part - 1

Elephant -zoo- African landscape

This book was a requested topic based on ancient Africa. It covers African History from the very beginning which includes Toolmaking, Fire and the Creation of Agriculture. This is cool as I am learning history that starts with stuff that my basis with is in Greek Mythology/ Greek Religion. I didn’t even learn it in biology or history class, so it is close to brand new.

African History is best known for the begging- and developing- of humans and their development. African history is developed- in the way we know today- with the foundation of the first civilization- in the way we know today- Ancient Egypt. African History: is best known for Ancient Egypt, the history of humans is generally agreed upon that Africa was the start of humans, the beginning of the separation of humans from other species was the creation of tools which were first created as long ago as 3 million years ago, and each time created new changes of the tools.

The biggest symbol of known African history is the Ancient Egyptians. They interacted the most with Europe and they were one of the longest running civilizations in European history. Ancient Egyptian History starts with Upper and lower Egypt in 3100 BCE, in comparison, Rome was only founded in 753 BCE. The ancient Egyptians were a solid civilization - 2000 years before the Romans.

Most scientists, historians and religions agree that Africa as where human life started. Civilization – the way we view it today- has only been around for 6,000 years, the industrial revolution has only been around for 300 years, and our ancestors were roaming the earth for millions of years.

The difference between humans and other species is the first step of humans- the creation of tools. The were created during the “Stone age” which lasted 3 million years which their metal took 6000 BP they periodized the Stone Ages into three- early, middle and late.

These time periods include changes at each time. In the first stone age period they included: hand ax tools, scrapers, cleavers, knives and throwing stones- these were all used by our first ancestors.  These tools were used as long as 2.6 million years ago. Older stone tools have been unearthed with the Homo species. The tools used between 2.6-1.7 million years ago included removing flakes from stone cores (pebbles) and creating a sharpened edge in the process. The product had stone cores and a sharpened edge in the process which was used for cutting, chopping and scraping- animals, plants and wood.

Ancient Egypt was the start of the Africa – and human civilization – that we know today. Ancient Egypt was founded 6,000 years ago and even Rome was only founded in 753 BCE -Egypt was founded: in 2,400-3,000. Hunter gatherers live off the land and their humans are thought to have lived in small groups. Humans developed tools and that was the difference between humans and moneys.
