Constantine, the Christian Part 10 of Roman Emperor’s
The Roman Empire helped create the abolishment of Jewish slavery with Constantine, the first Christian Roman Empire, who created policies that freed Jewish slaves if they converted to Christianity. The Roman Emperor Constantine was the First Christian Emperor and rose through the ranks of the Roman Empire however he had significant more advantages than Diocletian, Diocletian had typical traits necessary of the better emperors. Constantine kept even the Pagans but persecuted the Jews, however, gave them an advantage of freeing them from slavery. He built churches in Jewish territory who eventually revolted against the Roman Empire.
Constantine was born on February 27, 273, and Constantine’s birthplace, Constantinople at this this time, no one knew that it would become one of the most important cities of all time. His father, the age of Constantine was 10, was a provincial governor and his father divorced his wife to marry the daughter of one of the Roman emperors when he was a teen.
Constantine, the Christian, took after Diocletian who rose through the ranks of power from poverty to the highest position of power at the time- the Roman Emperor. Constantine had more advantages than Diocletian but needed help from his mother who helped him and helped his relationship with the gods/god moving nearby. His father was a commanding General in Britain and took over his father’s army after his father died. Constantine was a Roman Christian and the first Christian Roman emperor he tolerated the Pagans but hated Jews and labeled them “murderers of the lord.”
Constantine had the good and bad traits of the typical better Roman emperors. He was a builder, soldier, general statesman. Some of his personality traits were that he was single minded and ruthless. He passed a law freeing slaves of Jewish people if they converted to Christianity removing the stain of slavery from Judaism.
Constantine helped shape the Roman empire into a Christian Empire in 326 when the defeat of a major pagan leader, named Licinius, and he refused for the first time to sacrifice to Jupiter which was protested. Constantine decided he would convert the Roman empire into a Christian Empire, and it was his mission to do this. In 325 he delivered a major speech trying to bring the empire into one with God.
Constantine was the First Christian Roman Emperor and converted the Roman Empire into Catholicism. He was born in Constantinople, and his father was the assistant Roman Emperor to Diocletian for the west. After Diocletian there was a feeling in the Roman Empire that anyone could rise to great heights if they were talented and hardworking enough, with favor from god/gods, however Constantine had much greater advantages in this role then Diocletian however he still rose to become emperor and it still was impressive.
