The United States is in a complicated place. Trump is changing the United States for better or worse. He is doing it with executive orders, the Big Beautiful Bill and his congress. It is a complicated situation. Food assistance, disaster relief and other critical programs including healthcare are being cut. However, in Minneapolis there were some true stories of some fraud. Legitimately medium size fraud.
Iran is leading a massive revolution against the extremist Muslim government with the intention of putting in the son of the former king who ruled Iran in 1979. Iran has killed over 40 protestors, imprisoned more then 2,000, cut off Wi-Fi and phone service. There is a massive revolution, and it has a somewhat large chance of succeeding.
Venezuela ‘s president Maduro was captured by the United States and is being brought to the United States to face trial. The United States has taken Venezuela’s oil reserves, and they are planning to control Venezuela until it is stable. Venezuela falling means that Cuba may fall as well due to its interconnectedness.
The world and the United States are in a very complicated situation that requires lots of critical thinking and factchecking. The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, media channels and different government sources are saying vastly different things. Looking at things on social media makes it seem like something completely different is going on. However social media is not also completely accurate and typically only includes sounds bites or pictures. It is hard to tell exactly what is going on in the world. I think both sides (at least most people on both sides) are trying to do the right thing but may have different values, ideas, experiences, culture and knowledge bases. They may have also been exposed to different experiences/ pieces of information.
Political Partisanship and the political division are at an all-time high. It wasn’t that long ago that G.W.B gave a kind and welcoming speech to Obama. He also (with different context) supported, generally, legal immigration to the United States. I do not know why the United States and the world has gotten so partinsen, or if this is because news is showing us more problematic videos or showing us new things. Some of it may be good, some of it may be bad. However, history generally over the period of 500 years moves towards progress and innovation. I do not know the current outcome and everything that goes on; however we should all keep an open mind and at least try to attempt to treat other people civilly and as humans.
