Political Analysis of Homeless
Problem: Working families can sometimes become homeless even while working.
Solution:
According to Brian Goldstone, teenage pregnancies, unwanted pregnancies, unnecessary divorces, sports gambling, alcoholism and drugs contribute to homeless. Other things that contribute to homelessness are high rents, not enough housing, unaffordable homes to purchase and predatory lendors. The final round of contributors are unplanned pregnancies, lack of emergency savings, high credit card interest rates and high food prices. The book mentions five families that become homeless even while working. The primary theme is housing that working people get kicked off even while paying for the rent, damaged housing or torn down housing. They move into motels which they eventually can’t pay for, and they can’t find proper housing, which causes them to eventually become homeless. Some of them initially were in workforce or subsidized housing. To solve this issue, it is mandatory for a mandatory minimum 15$ minimum wage, more subsidized housing, cheaper apartments and more renter protections. Other solutions include legalized abortion, planned pregnancies, personal protection and lower barriers to producing affordable housing. These families were working and still became homeless; which shows the wide economic divide and the main issues that can impact almost anyone. It also can happen due to wildfires or other environmental issues.
