Weekend activities to do on a Saturday for a young person in Washington D.C
Sleep in on Saturday then go to breakfast at steak and eggs, Georgetown grill or a coffee shop- get coffee and a pastry or coffee at a coffee shop with a friend. Play pick up basketball or soccer at a park or basketball court- you could also join a rec league team- coed or not coed.
Afterward visit the Zoo – see the Panda’s, lions and tigers- the Pandas just got back from China- There are two pandas. Then visit the World War Two Memorial on the national mall. Visit the African American History Museum for on hour to better understand black/African/African American culture.
For lunch get food in Bethesda, Georgetown or in Rockville- don’t eat downtown. Eat at Cactus Cantina, Raku or Fish Taco. Other good places include Five Guys or Chick Fila. Go to Wonderous Books, or Politics and Prose and get something to read. For dinner go to Cactus Cantina, Fish Taco, Clyde’s in Georgetown or Friendship heights, Mama Mia’s or Andy’s Pizza- one of the better Bar’s in Town.
